ABUJA—THE Presidency last night attacked the main political opposition, the Peoples, Democratic Party, PDP, over its attack on President Muhammadu Buhari for attending the launch of the autobiography by the pioneer chairman of the All Progressives Congress, APC, Chief Bisi Akande titled, “My Participations.”

The opposition PDP had taken a swipe at the President for attending a book launch on a day bandits attacked and killed Nigerians in some states of the North.

But reacting to the barrage of attacks and criticisms against the President on his alleged insensitivity to the plights of the people, the Presidency explained that Buhari was in Lagos primarily for the launch of made- in-Nigeria naval defence ship, NNS Oji, and induction of other vital military assets that improve the country’s capabilities to fight increased piracy in the Gulf of Guinea and later decided to honour the invitation for the book launch.
